The design of this building, situated amongst the remains of crumbling
old farm buildings attempts to focus visitor’s attention
on the historical valley that is soon to be declared a World Heritage
Site. As people arrive, the sloping planted roofs draw attention
to the beautiful Waterberg mountains beyond.
Visitors
move along a narrative route through the farm buildings, fossil
preparation areas, museum and auditorium and the cavernous interior
spaces make reference to the famous hillside caves on the farm,
where millions of year’s worth of human history has been
recorded
